WTVG-TV, Channel 13, received four Emmys at the 46th annual Lower Great Lakes Emmy Award ceremonies last month in Indianapolis. The ABC affiliate was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the station’s breaking news coverage for a report on a fire that reignited while reporter Tony Geftos was on scene, for its morning/​daytime and weekend newscasts, and its sportscast for “Football Friday.”

WUPW-TV, Channel 36 and WTOL-TV, Channel 11, took top honors for its evening newscast with the hourlong Fox Toledo News at 10. Channel 36 shares Channel 11’s newsroom and staffing.

Area stations competed in the smaller TV market 41-plus group.
