Voss leaving Toledo market after nearly 5 years

There is no information on where she is going

Emilie Voss, evening co-anchor for WTOL-TV, Channel 11, and WUPW-TV, Channel 36, is leaving the Toledo market later this month after nearly five years at the stations.

Voss joined WTOL and WUPW shortly before channels 11 and 36 merged news departments in late April, 2012, and was paired with Jerry Anderson for Channel 36's p.m. newscasts at 6:30 to 7, and 10 to 11.

After Chrys Peterson, Anderson's WTOL co-anchor, left the station in late April, 2014, Voss was moved over from WUPW to serve as Peterson's replacement on WTOL, where she co-anchors the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts, and is a fill-in on WUPW.

“We're going to miss having her,” said Brian Lorenzen, WTOL vice president and general manager. “She's been a big part of our success this year and over several years.”

Lorenzen said that the station will conduct an internal search to replace Voss, as well as in the Toledo market and nationwide.

“We'll do everything we can to fill her position,” he said, “and to keep that momentum.”

Voss could not be reached for comment, and there is no information on where she is going.
