The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo has added to Toledo’s permanent public art collection a sculpture that had been commissioned this year for its annual art and music festival.

You Are Beautiful, a 12-by-14-by 8-foot wood painted sculpture by Chicago artist Matthew Hoffman, has been purchased for $10,000 through a partnership between the Arts Commission’s Momentum Festival program and the City of Toledo’s 1 Percent for Art program, said Arts Commission spokesman Malena Caruso.

The sculptural and motivational piece, which features the statement “You Are Beautiful” on one side and “You Are Doing Great” on the other, has been installed in International Park at the Docks. It was one of six temporary, interactive installations at the Momentum Festival in Promenade Park in September.
