Michael’s Café and Bakery, 101 Main St., is holding its annual Paws with Paczki adoption event in conjunction with Paws and Whiskers, Toledo’s only no-kill cat shelter. This purr-fect party will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday (aka Paczki Day), when the bakery will host two cats who are looking to find their fur-ever homes.
Stop by to pick up some paczki and 50 cents of every dozen sold will be donated to the shelter. Additionally, all contributions placed in the tip jar for the week will go towards care for the cats.
Available flavors are apple, apricot, Bavarian, blueberry, cherry, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, lemon, plain, raisin, raspberry, and strawberry. They cost $15.95 per dozen or $1.40 each.
For more information or to place an advance order, call 419-698-2988. Walk-ins are always welcome.
■ St. Paul’s food fests
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 N. Erie St., invites you to its upcoming food-themed fests.
At 4 p.m. on March 14, join in a live-streamed St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Pre-order a full holiday dinner (corned beef, cabbage, carrots, red potatoes, and crème de menthe dessert bars), then enjoy a virtual one hour musical program featuring Scott Sopata playing bagpipe, guitar, and tin whistle. There will also be Irish trivia and other entertainment.
The cost is $30, and includes generous servings for two; payment can be made when meals are picked up in the drive-through line between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Place orders with HeART Gallery director Kate Philabaum: kate@stpaulstoledo.org.
National Grilled Cheese Day will get a unique spin when muralist Kodi Klocinski, owner of Toledo Tattoo Company, will brighten an outside wall of the church. At 4 p.m. that day (April 11), those who donate to the fund-raiser for this project are invited to enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches and root beer floats while watching the colorful transformation of the building and listening to live music.
To donate to the project, go to gofund.me/323c6303 or contact Ms. Philabaum. Any amount is gratefully appreciated.
