Special Events: Sister Cities International Festival is set for Levis Square

The Toledo Sister Cities International Festival is Saturday in downtown Toledo’s Levis Square. 

The festival honors Toledo’s ethnic communities, especially the connections to Toledo’s sister cities around the world in countries like India, Japan, and Tanzania. Vocal, instrumental, and dance groups representing these and other countries are set to perform, and ethnic food will be available. Attendees can also take part in crafts and simple language lessons. 

The festival runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Levis Square is at the intersection of North St. Clair Street and Madison Avenue. There is no cost to attend. For more information, go to toledosistercities.org.

Hendel: Woodlawn Cemetery unveils stream restoration project

The anniversary concert was originally slated for the 2019-2020 season, but was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. It is set to include two commissioned works by composers Aaron David Miller and Gwyneth Walker.

Brooks and Dunn perform at the Huntington Center on Friday.

The Country Music Hall of Famers released Reboot in 2019. The album is series of re-recordings of the duo’s famous songs throughout their career, alongside leading voices in country music today like Luke Combs and Kacey Musgraves.

Night Ranger continues the ProMedica Live summer concert series at Promenade Park on Friday.   

The San Francisco-based rock band rose to popularity in the 1980s after putting out songs like “Sister Christian” and “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me.” Night Ranger released its 12th studio album, ATBPO, in August.

Appearing with the band is Sebastian Bach, former frontman of early 1990s rock group Skid Row.
