Bone Thugs-n-Harmony headline an evening of hip hop and rap at the Stranahan Theater on Friday. The group is known for picking up attention in Cleveland in the early ‘90s. Its hits include “First of the Month.” The full show lineup will feature Twista, Ying Yang Twins, and Do or Die.

■ Waterville celebrates its heritage at the 45th annual Roche de Boeuf Festival on Saturday. A parade heads down Farnsworth Road at 10 a.m., while food, music, artists’ booths, a pioneer village, and a car show continue the festivities downtown between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Roche de Boeuf is French for “buffalo rock.” It refers to the rock outcrop into the Maumee River where Native Americans once held councils, including at least one in the 1700s that was aimed at strategizing against a young United States.

■ TEDx Toledo is set for Thursday at Fleetwood's Tap Room, 28 N. St. Clair St. TEDx is a locally organized conference in which presenters share “ideas worth spreading” in 18 minutes or less. TED launched at a conference in 1984 as an acronym for technology, entertainment, and design.
Eleven local speakers are set to present on a wide variety of topics between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets, $49, are available online.

■ Checkmate Games and Hobbies hosts a Magic: The Gathering open house on Saturday. Prospective players can learn about the card game for free between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m., with the shop providing everything, including a 60-card deck, that they’ll need.
Magic: The Gathering was released in 1993 as the first modern trading card game, and it continues to prove popular with an estimated 20 million players.
