The Lion King will not return to the Stranahan Theater this year and a 2022 tour is still uncertain.
“Unfortunately, we have recently learned these circumstances have made it necessary to postpone Disney’s The Lion King,” according to a Stranahan news release. “Please know we are working tirelessly to bring Disney’s The Lion King to Toledo in 2022. You will updated as we get additional information.”
Tickets previously purchased for the show will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Those seeking refunds will need to return printed tickets to the Stranahan Ticket Office and will need to have ready the last 4 digits on the credit card used.
Refunds won’t be offered to those who purchased tickets from a third party vendor.
The Lion King was originally scheduled for March 25 through April 12 of this 2020, but – like many Broadway shows and entertainment venues – was postponed because of the pandemic. The show was then rescheduled for this summer before being rescheduled again. Organizers have since been working with Disney Theatrical Productions to schedule when the show would return.
