Educator/Composer Margaret Weber was a stalwart icon of the Toledo musical frontier until her passing last year just after her centennial birthday. Toledo born and bred, she graduated from Sylvania High School.
After studies at Washington University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Michigan — with immortal names such as Marcel Dupré, E. Power Biggs, Leslie Bassett, and Marilyn Mason — she returned to her hometown to serve on the faculties of Mary Manse College and the University of Toledo.
She was lifelong accompanist of the Toledo Choral Society, president of the Toledo Piano Teacher Association, and Dean of the Toledo chapter of the American Guild of Organists. An active composer and poet, her work is now in archive at the Main Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.
