Eye on Toledo: Blade photographers share their favorite shots of 2022

Blade photographers train their lenses on a wide variety of subjects in a single day, let alone a year. Their office is at the edge of the court, in the halls of a school, and the aisle of a church. They head to neighborhood sidewalks, where some days they find locals bearing witness to tragedy and other days children splashing around on hot summer days. They're invited into homes and backyard gardens.

Wherever they find themselves, photographers are always on the lookout for moments of action and emotion that will tell a story in pixels: The punch thrown on the ice of the Huntington Center. The quiet moment on the banks of the Maumee River. The moon peeking out from the unique geometry of the Veteran’s Glass City Skyway Bridge.

There were countless such moments in 2022, and will be undoubtedly countless more in 2023. Here photographers share just a few of their favorites from the past year.
