Rossford native Jonathan Bennett, best known for his role in 2004's Mean Girls and for hosting the Food Network’s specials Halloween Wars and Holiday Wars, will once again spend his New Year's Eve hosting the live webcast and TV pool feed of Times Square New Year’s Eve.
Mr. Bennett hosted the webcast in 2016 as well.
The 11th annual webcast — presented by The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment — will cover the frivolity and hubbub of the event in New York’s Times Square, beginning with the ball raising at 6 p.m., plus live musical performances, hourly countdowns, behind-the-scenes stories, and celebrity interviews during the countdown to midnight and the famous ball drop.
Multiplatinum-selling rockers X Ambassadors continue the New Year’s Eve tradition of singing John Lennon’s “Imagine,” moments before midnight as well as performing several of their global chart-topping songs earlier in the night, including “Renegades” and “Unsteady.”
Mr. Bennett, a Rossford High School graduate, also has appeared in Van Wilder: Freshman Year (2009) and The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007), and has had guest appearances in several TV shows and movies. He also has been a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
