WTVG-TV, Channel 13 said Monday it will begin a 4 p.m. weekday newscast on Sept. 13.

13abc Action News at 4 p.m. will reunite the anchor team of Tony Geftos and Christina Williams.

Mr. Geftos anchored the weekend morning show from 2012 to 2019 after Ms. Williams became the weekend evening anchor. They will be joined by meteorologist Dan Smith, who also will present the daily weather forecast at noon.

Chris Fedele, WTVG-TV's general manager, said in a prepared statement the newscast will “help us continue to grow our 24/7 Action News Now desk, where we update viewers on the latest breaking news regardless of time or location.”

As part of the move, 13abc’s Josh Croup will take Ms. Williams' position as the weekend evening anchor. Mr. Croup joined the 13abc team earlier this year after spending two years as a reporter and anchor at WDTV in West Virginia.
