Toledo’s ABC-TV affiliate is looking for a new news director.

Michael Baldwin, promoted to that position at WTVG-TV, Channel 13 early in 2022, is gone. 

“I can confirm Michael is no longer at the station and I am looking for his replacement,” said WTVG general manager Brad Moses in an email response to The Blade. “Nothing else to expand.”

Baldwin was contacted by The Blade on Monday, but did not immediately respond.

Baldwin came to Channel 13 as an assistant news director after serving as news director at WDTV-TV, Channel 5 in Bridgeport, W.Va., he told The Blade in 2022. He’s worked 27 years in TV, including stops in Boston, Nevada, Tennessee, Maine, and North Carolina.

The job description for Baldwin’s replacement posted by parent company Gray Television:

“WTVG wants a News Director who will lead, mentor, and develop the next generation of journalists. We are looking for a dynamic news professional who excels with high expectations, passion, and dedication. The News Director will lead and manage news coverage for WTVG and our powerful group of digital and social platforms.”
