Honoring the memories of those you cherish

Losing a family member, companion, or dear friend is difficult. Among the tough decisions you may be faced with during this time, know that sharing their life story with others is one way to start the healing process.

It doesn’t matter if the person was a company president, a dancer, a chef, an accountant, or a teacher – everyone’s life tells a story.  And we can help you tell it.

The stories The Blade shares become part of a searchable record, preserving your loved one’s legacy for friends and family now and generations to come.

A digital or printed obituary in a trusted news source like The Blade, lets you keep that loved one alive in memory, as well as honors their life for generations to come.

Take comfort in the fact that for almost two centuries, The Blade has told the stories of people from this area.  When it is time, let us help you tell your loved one’s story.  Remember your family members, revisit their stories from time to time, and share that story with future generations who may be interested in learning more about their ancestry.

For some ideas on what to include, go to toledoblade.com/obituaries.  You will find a simple template you can use to be sure to include all of the biographical information you want, the dates, times and location of the visitation and service.  And include your loved one’s wishes regarding charitable donations, flowers or tributes.  Try to get this information to us at least 1-2 days prior to services.

You’ll be able to choose from a variety of options in terms of size, presentation, price ranges and photo use, or you can ask for something different.  We can offer obituaries that run on just our digital platforms, only in print, or in both, depending on your wishes.  The options shown are examples of what families have selected most frequently, but these are just suggestions.  We can work with you to get the presentation you want.

We can also help you get high-quality copies of the published obituary.  For some examples, go to thebladevault.com.

Please call 419-724-6433 or email obit@toledoblade.com if you have any questions.
