Jacobson's demolished

A wrecking crew tears down the walls of the former Jacobson's department store at Westfield Shoppingtown Franklin Park yesterday as a $113 million renovation begins in earnest. When completed by July, 2005, a new wing featuring a 16-screen theater, a food court, restaurants, and several stores, including a Dick's Sporting Goods, will occupy the south side of the mall. Two parking decks next to the mall also will be built.
