LIMA, Ohio — General Dynamics Corp. has been awarded a $99.7 million contract to continue work on tanks for Saudi Arabia. The work will be done at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center.
Workers at the Lima plant have been converting M1A1 and M1A2 tanks to a different configuration, called M1A2S. The conversion makes the tanks more capable and more efficient.
The contract, which is expected to be completed in mid 2016, is not expected to increase employment.
