CEO of Lucas Metropolitan Housing to depart for Denver

Joaquin Cintron Vega is leaving his role as president and CEO of Lucas Metropolitan Housing to take a position to lead the Housing Authority of the city and county of Denver.

Rachel Gagnon. deputy executive director,  will fill the role of interim CEO. Ms. Gagnon’s appointment is expected to be formalized at the next Board of Commissioners meeting.

“Joaquin’s leadership has been transformative for Lucas Metropolitan Housing, and we are grateful for his service,” LMH Chairman Alisha Gant said. “As we open a search for the next head of LMH, we are pleased to be able to provide continuity of leadership and have Rachel serve as the interim CEO. We are confident that she will continue to provide our communities with the highest level of service and guidance.”

The search for LMH’s next CEO will begin immediately, Ms. Gant said.

Cintrón Vega has served as president and CEO of LMH since March of  2020 and will remain in his current role until Feb. 28.
