Residents can meet with regulators about Davis-Besse safety

OAK HARBOR, Ohio — Area residents can meet with federal regulators to informally learn more about the Davis-Besse nuclear plant’s 2018 safety performance on Thursday night.

Information will be provided by U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staffers on a one-on-one basis during an open house from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. inside the Carroll Township Service Complex, 11080 W. Toussaint East Rd., Oak Harbor. Those available will include the two resident inspectors assigned to the plant, owned by FirstEnergy Solutions.

The NRC said in its meeting announced that Davis-Besse had no major safety issues that year.
