Outlook: Kelly spent the last nine seasons at Lakota where he was head coach for the last four seasons.
He has 55 players, including 16 seniors to work with.
"We have good skill players at key positions that are experienced upperclassmen," Kelly said. "We have a solid group of seniors that will provide leadership."
Cousin, who is a third-year starter at quarterback, connected on 116 of 239 passes for 1,272 and nine touchdowns last season.
"He's a good leader and a smart kid," Kelly said.
However, a lack of depth is always a concern no matter how many players a team has, according to Kelly.
"We are constantly working with underclassmen for the present and the future," he said.
Kelly said a key to a solid season is being physical every week.
"We have to utilize our speed to make us difficult to defend," Kelly said. "Our defense has to be tenacious."
