Coach: Mike Daniels, fourth year
Last season: 1-8, 1-4 CL
Returning letter winners: 17
Returning starters: Offense 6, defense 5
Schemes: Pro-style/4-3
Top players: Seniors Bryan Pinkney, 5-7, 150, RB-DB; Rashard Ticey, 5-10, 220, OL-DL; Marcus Gilmer, 6-3, 210, WR-DE; Keonle Davis, 5-10, 230, OL-DL; Gavin Whittington, 5-11, 200, TE-LB. Junior Trey Brown, 6-3, 190, QB.
Outlook: The Bulldogs are encouraged to think their fortunes may be better than a year ago with 17 letter winners returning. Scott, which has 40 players but only five seniors, enters the season with the goal of showing steady improvement with each week.
Daniels believes consistency in all facets of the game can lead to the Bulldogs becoming a more competitive team in the CL. With half of their starters from last season's team back, the Bulldogs have more experience to work with this year.
Brown gives Scott a big-play threat. He completed 42 of 111 passes for 874 yards, including seven touchdowns. He also scored six rushing touchdowns. Pinkney and Gilmer will be looked at to contribute to the offense.
"This team has plenty of potential," Daniels said. "They have to stick together and believe in the team concept."
