Michael J. Anderson, president and chief executive of The Andersons Inc., has been elected to the board of FirstEnergy Corp., effective next month.

Mr. Anderson, who will serve on the board s finance committee and nuclear committee, was not available for comment yesterday.

Members of FirstEnergy s board are paid $30,000 annually, are given $86,000

worth of stock, and receive $1,500 for each board meeting they attend. The board meets monthly.
