B.G. native named chief of Beech-Nut Nutrition

Jeff Boutelle, a Bowling Green native, has been named president of Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp., a baby-food manufacturing firm owned by the Hero Group of Lenzburg, Switzerland.

Mr. Boutelle, 48, was appointed to lead the Amsterdam, N.Y.-based firm effective this week, the company said. The last two years Mr. Boutelle was based in London as area vice president for Abbott Nutrition International, overseeing operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He was with Abbott Nutrition since 2007.

A 1981 graduate of Bowling Green High School, Mr. Boutelle received a degree in accounting and management information systems in 1985 from Bowling Green State University. He has a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University.

Hearing set in Toledo on electricity rates

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is to hold a public hearing on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Government Center downtown to take comments from consumers on FirstEnergy Corp.'s request to extend its electricity rate plan for two years. FirstEnergy supplies power to most of northwest Ohio through its Toledo Edison subsidiary.

Consumers will be allowed to give sworn testimony regarding the rate plan. The commission is to consider the testimony when deciding on the request.
