Sylvania Citizens for Fire Services will kick off its levy campaign for the Sylvania Township Fire Department Tuesday.
The citizen-run group will host a public conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sylvania Township Fire Department’s Station No. 1, 6633 Monroe St.
Members of the campaign committee will offer information about how the 1.5-mill operating levy for the township fire department will be spent if voters approve it in November. The levy would collect about $1.81 million annually.

The fire department cites a $1.2 million deficit by 2016. The department serves Sylvania Township and city residents.
