The east drawspan of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge was stuck in the upper position today after experiencing some kind of electrical problem.
David Welch, Toledo’s commissioner of streets, bridges, and harbors, said at about 1:45 p.m. that crews were lowering the span with auxiliiary power, and that electrical crews will look at the bridge to see what the problem was.
Emergency joint repairs have required lane closings on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge periodically and has been closing the bridge entirely weekends for those repairs.
