ADRIAN — Former Washington Local Schools superintendent and board member Patrick Hickey was bound over Tuesday to Lenawee County Circuit Court, where he will be arraigned next week on felony sex charges.
Mr. Hickey, 55, was charged in March with three counts of criminal sexual conduct after an investigation into a relationship with a former student decades ago. Elected in November to the board of education, he resigned from the board when informed of the charges.
He was arrested in March and released after he posted bail.
Lenawee County District Court Judge Jonathan Poer on Tuesday bound Mr. Hickey’s case over to circuit court and set Mr. Hickey’s arraignment for May 9, after Mr. Hickey waived a preliminary hearing set for Thursday.
The charges against Mr. Hickey relate to his time as a teacher in Addison Community Schools.
