The Toledo Zoo is asking for the public’s help to pick names for its new Amur tiger cubs while raising funds for conservation.
The cubs, a male and a female, were born March 19 to mother Talya, 9, and father Titan, 4. The babies went on exhibit with their mother June 12 in Tiger Terrace.
Participants in the naming contest can submit a donation of any amount to cast their votes and select from a list of name choices. The names that earn the most dollars will win, and the funds raised will go toward the zoo’s conservation efforts for the endangered species and the tigers’ care.
Male name options are Finn, Ezra, Lucian, Feliks, and Alexei. Female name options are Rory, Remy or Remi, Ember, Serafima, and Galina.
Voting is open until June 30 at toledozoo.org/tiger-vote.
