Because of the bitter cold, the U.S. Postal Service suspended mail delivery for Wednesday for Toledo.
The area letter carriers’ union, Branch 100 of the National Association of Letter Carriers, made the announcement on Facebook late Tuesday.
The postal service confirmed the suspension in an online “service alert”:

“Due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, the Postal Service is suspending delivery Jan. 30.”
The service interruption includes the Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Detroit areas, Chicago, and extends from eastern Nebraska to western Pennsylvania.
