Real estate tax bills due by Jan. 31 are being mailed, the Lucas County Treasurer's Office said.
Due to ongoing coronavirus concerns, the treasurer’s office is encouraging taxpayers to use contact-free options when paying property tax bills. These include online payments, via phone, mail, or a drop box at the corner of Erie and Jackson streets.
Credit cards may be used only for in-person payment at the treasurer’s office, through its website (co.lucas.oh.us/treasurer), or by phone using Paymentus (1-866-288-9803). Paymentus charges a 2.5 percent service fee for debit/credit card payments and also accepts electronic checks, for which the service fee is 50 cents.
The treasurer’s office at One Government Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and taxpayers paying in-person should bring their bills with them. Payments similarly may be made at GenoaBank and Premier Bank branches in Lucas County, but only payment-in-full is accepted.
Questions can be directed to the office's real estate department at 419-213-4305.
