Nuestra Gente Community Projects hosts fall festival

A fall festival including trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and other family-friendly events has been organized in the Old South End.

The festival will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 12 at 1411 Broadway, a former Lutheran church and now the site of Nuestra Gente Community Projects Inc., the social service organization hosting the festival.

The afternoon and evening will include trick-or-treating, games, food, music, face painting, and the costume contest, and is meant to give families a place to enjoy the holiday season in a safe environment, said Linda Parra, president of Nuestra Gente.
