The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will host a ceremony Thursday dedicating the street in front of the main library as Clyde Scoles Way.
The renaming ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at 325 N. Michigan St. to honor Clyde Scoles, who served as the library’s executive director for 32 years before his death in February.
Mr. Scoles had been library director since 1985 after seven years as assistant director. He began his career in library sciences with the Public Library of Columbus and Franklin County. In 1974, he was named director of the library system in Zanesville, Ohio, then moved to Toledo in 1978.
