Sylvania mom prompted to run Race for the Cure after overcoming cancer

A local breast cancer survivor is having a change of heart when it comes to running this weekend’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Rose Klapp — Sylvania resident and a mother of five — stopped running the race at one point because she didn’t think the money was staying in the community.

However, to her surprise, the organization ended up paying for most of her health bills when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and didn’t have health insurance.

She’s now encouraging others to support the organization that helped save her life and asking them to run in the Findlay and Toledo Race for the Cure
