As part of National Nurses Week, McDonald’s is providing gift cards.

In all, about 2,500 of the cards were provided last week to hospitals in the Toledo region for distribution to the nurses in the Toledo region, including suburban areas, said Tyler Lecceadone, a McDonald’s spokesman.

The gift cards are for beverages available at the restaurants.

National Nurses Week runs May 6-12 each year. It coincides with the May 12 anniversary of the 1820 birth of Florence Nightingale, who is considered the founder of modern nursing.
