The Ability Center is set to host a learning event Thursday to help enhance the relationship between employers and people with disabilities.
The Lunch & Learn will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in a hybrid format with guests having the option to attend in person at the Ability Center’s offices at 5605 Monroe St. in Sylvania or via Zoom.
The event is being put on in partnership with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and will discuss how employers can create more inclusive work environments by making accommodations for disabled employees.
“In today's diverse workplace, inclusivity is crucial for success. However, many employers struggle with understanding and implementing workplace accommodations,” the Ability Center said in a statement. “This Lunch & Learn event offers a unique opportunity to gain quick tips, tangible resources, and outside-the-box thinking to empower employers in embracing workplace accommodations.”
Those interested in attending can sign up on the Ability Center’s website. If attending virtually, a Zoom link will be sent out after registration.
The event is free. Lunch can be provided for a $5 fee, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch for no charge.
