Toledo is being asked to get in the game and be part of a cleanup and beautification initiative.
“Toledo Litter League is a competitive baseball-themed litter abatement program aimed at striking out litter in Toledo and the rest of Lucas County,” according to a news release. “Teams will consist of businesses, neighborhood groups, faith-based organizations, private clubs, civic organizations, and individuals.”
Registration began for the league, which will run from June 1 to the end of August. Participants will be given tickets to a end of season Mud Hens game.
Each team must have a captain, team name, and a roster of no more than 20. Those younger than 13 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult. Teams are required by ZIP code to determine where each will collecting litter. All players need to fill out a liability waiver.
Team divisions will consist of Business/Corporation, Nonprofit/Faith-Based Organization, Community Group and Family/Individual. Captains will select their league while registering.
