A series of events are planned to mark the 230th anniversary of the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
There will be an opening ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday at the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Metropark, at 4949 N. Jerome Rd., Maumee, which will be followed by lantern tours of the battlefield starting at 6:30 p.m. The tours, featuring stories of the battlefield told by historic figures and tour guides along the way, are limited to 100 people. Tickets must be pre-ordered at fallentimbersbattlefield.org.
On Saturday there will be living history camps and a museum display at Wakeman Hall, 401 Farnsworth Rd., Waterville, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will also be a free performance of Strong Winds, the 338th Army Band, at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wakeman Hall. People should bring a chair on which to sit.
The living history camps and museum displays will continue Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wakeman Hall.
