Two public lectures on classical learning are set for February at the Northwest Ohio Classical Academy.
On Thursday, Latin teacher Stephen Froedge will examine what the Founding Fathers thought about Julian the Apostate, the last “pagan” emperor. A news release said that “in their correspondence, John Adams and his son make multiple references to Emperor Julian and his attempt at religious interference.”
On Feb. 20, science teacher Jeanine Haworth will present “Some Unresolved Questions with the Theory of Evolution.”
The Frommer Society is a series of public lectures and panel discussions exploring topics including politics, religion, ethics, literature, history, art, and music. “These intellectually engaging conversations are a wonderful opportunity for anyone to partake in the rich classical approach to learning NOCA students enjoy every day,” the school said in the release.
The lectures take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the academy, 5025 Glendale Ave., Toledo.
