The opening reception for a new exhibit at Toledo School for the Arts takes place Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Curated by photographer James “dirtykics” Dickerson, The Light We Share features Black artists in conjunction with Black History Month.
“Through our work as Black artists, we have an ongoing dialogue with the world and the conditions we exist in,” he said on the TSA website. “The Light We Share is a visual conversation represented through shades of color on paper, canvas, and emulsion — mediums that have lit a fire within our souls.”

The reception is free and open to the public. The Portal, TSA’s event space, is at 1401 Adams St.
