Volunteers are needed for a March 29 cleanup at the Bissell-Stickney Nature Preserve in Toledo.
The project will focus on marine debris, organizers said.
Removing marine debris, which the Partners for Clean Streams defines as “any persistent solid material that is manufactured or processed, and directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, disposed of in a water environment like our oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams,” keeps wildlife safer and improves waterway recreation, the organization says.
Clean Streams and the Lucas County Cemeteries Historical Association are sponsoring the project which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Organizers said to use the GPS address 1132 Paxton St. Toledo, 43608, to get close to the designated location. They will meet next to the guard rail at the dead end of D Street, organizers said.
