MONROE — Two Monroe men have been convicted of murdering a Wayne County man last November in Monroe.
As part of plea agreements, Krea Michelle Disabatino, 37, and Joshua Lee Doty, 35, each pleaded no contest Tuesday to second-degree murder charges for their roles in the Nov. 6 killing of 44-year-old Delance Lanier, the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office said in a prepared statement.
The pair contacted the victim “to arrange for the purchase of drugs,” according to the statement. Once he arrived, he was struck in the head multiple times, dragged to his vehicle, and driven to Kentucky Avenue, where the vehicle was abandoned with his body inside, according to the document.
Both were charged with homicide-open murder, which includes both first and second-degree murder; assault with intent to rob while armed, and conspiracy, and were charged as habitual offenders.
The plea agreements carry a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison for each defendant. Sentencing before 38th Circuit Court Judge Daniel S. White is scheduled for Nov. 19.
