Three men were found guilty by a federal jury Thursday of participating in a drug trafficking ring that moved large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl across Toledo, federal authorities said.
Antuan Wynn, 47, and Christopher Simpson, 31, both of Toledo, as well as Marquise Figures, 37, stood accused of participating in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, as well as distribution of controlled substance and use of a cell phone to facilitate a drug trafficking felony, the U.S. Justice Department reported.
The three defendants were charged with 19 other co-conspirators, the rest of whom pleaded guilty earlier in the year.
A seven-day trial before U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary revealed that Wynn, Simpson, and Figures were part of an organization that distributed at least five kilograms of cocaine and 400 grams of fentanyl throughout the Toledo area between December, 2019, and November, 2021, the Justice Department said.
The trio will be sentenced at a later date in U.S. District Court in Toledo.
