Boy enters guilty plea for 14-year-old's murder

A teenager charged with fatally shooting a 14-year-old boy two summers ago pleaded guilty Monday to a single murder count in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Zammarion Candie, 17, of the 4000 block of Heatherdowns Boulevard, faces life in prison with parole possible after 18 years when sentenced Feb. 19 by Judge Lindsay Navarre.

Adrian Johnson, 14, was shot twice in the torso outside a house at Heatherdowns and Green Valley Drive on July 19, 2023.

Candie’s guilty plea included a three-year gun specification along with the murder charge itself. His case had been scheduled to go to trial Monday before a plea agreement was reached with prosecutors.
