PAULDING, Ohio — A Paulding County man who pleaded guilty in February to sexually abusing a minor has been sentenced to 34 months in prison, according to a joint statement issued Tuesday by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers.
Daniel Froelich, 56, of Cecil, Ohio, a Paulding County village that’s about 72 miles southwest of downtown Toledo, was sentenced in Paulding County Common Pleas Court. He pleaded guilty last month to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony. Froelich will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender.
An investigation by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office found that Froelich had sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 13, according to the statement by Mr. Yost and Sheriff Landers.
Attorneys with Mr. Yost’s special prosecutions section prosecuted the case.
