Samer Ahmad, a senior from Toledo, plans to major in mechanical and/or industrial engineering or criminal justice but is undecided on the university he will attend. His favorite subjects include jazz band and math and he is involved in the post-secondary options program in philosophy at the University of Toledo. He has a 4.3 grade-point average.
Samer is a member of the National Honor Society the Paragon National Honor Society, the Internet and Thespian Society, F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team, and varsity baseball and soccer teams.
He has volunteered for school levy literature drops, worked on the United States Postal Service Food Drive, and various church drives.
"In the last few years, I have observed Samer as a student in the classroom and a student leader in the school," said English teacher Deb Mills. "In both situations, he is reliable and diligent in his tasks. However, I am most impressed by his insightfulness and ability to express himself. He has accepted many challenges this year and appears to be succeeding in all of them."
Samer is the son of Amer and Sarah Ahmad.
