BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College announced a new partnership will allow nursing students to transfer registered nursing credits from an associate program to a bachelor of science program.
Public officials from both institutions announced the Transfer Pathway Agreement — designed to transfer registered nursing credits from Owens’s Associate of Applied Science in registered nursing to BGSU’s Bachelor of Science in nursing, on Monday.
The program will allow Owens’ students to complete general education courses for BGSU while continuing their courses at Owens.
According to a press release sent by BGSU, after receiving an associate degree and passing the NCLEX exam, students can begin working on their BSN. Students are expected to be able to complete their degree “as few as three semesters.”
BGSU officials predict lower fees, due to classes being provided through the university’s online degrees and certification programs, eCampus.
The university will offer three start dates for students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
