Beginning next fall, high school students who earn a 3.7 GPA or higher and score a minimum 24 on their ACT exams will receive guaranteed admission into the University of Toledo’s competitive nursing program.
The school said Tuesday it would directly enroll students who meet those qualifications into its bachelor of science in nursing program.
Under the previous requirements, applicants pursuing the B.S.N. degree had to enroll in a prenursing program before they could apply during their sophomore year to officially get into nursing school.

High school applicants who do not meet the qualifications for automatic enrollment can still get into nursing school through the current pathway.
