Richard T. Gosser Scholarships of $10,000 each have been awarded to several area high school students from United Auto Workers families.
“I am proud that we are able to facilitate the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program for the children of our members and support them as they continue their education,” Wayne Blanchard, UAW Region 2B director, said.

- Olivia Thatcher, a senior at Woodmore High School in Elmore, Ohio, ranked third in her class of 77 students. Her father, Gary Thatcher, is a member of UAW Local 1435 at Stellantis in Perrysburg.
- Trey Whitney, a senior at Edon Northwest High School, Edon, OH, ranked first in his class of 41. His father, Timothy Whitney, is a member of UAW Local 211 at Powers and Sons in Montpelier, Ohio.
- Caitlyn Maag, a senior at Pandora-Gilboa High School in Pandora, Ohio, ranked third in her class of 36. Her father, Craig Maag, is a member of UAW Local 2147 at General Dynamics in Lima, Ohio.
- Audrey Rittenhouse, a senior at Tinora High School in Defiance, Ohio, ranked first in her class of 11. Her father, Douglas Rittenhouse, is a member of UAW Local 211 at General Motors in Defiance, Ohio.
- Emma DeLong, a senior at Lima Central Catholic, in Lima, Ohio, ranked ninth in her class of 70. Her father, Daniel DeLong, is a member of UAW Local 1219 at Ford Motor Co in Lima.
The scholarships are made in honor of the late UAW vice president and regional director, Richard T. Gosser. The program was established in 1962.
