Romules Durant, the Toledo Public Schools’ superintendent, will dress up as the “Cool Cat in the Hat” and read a Dr. Seuss book to preschool students Thursday to mark Dr. Seuss Day.
The event will start at 10 a.m. at the Escuela SMART Academy, 617 Western Ave.
Mr. Durant will spend time with the students to stress the importance of parents registering their children for kindergarten for the 2024-25 academic year. Online enrollment is now open for students who will reach age 5 by Sept. 30.
TPS is also encouraging parents of upcoming kindergarten students to attend the “Discover TPS” events to be held at district elementary schools March 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. and March 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m.
