The Anthony Wayne schools’ superintendent will leave his post July 31 to take the same post in Oregon.
Jim Fritz announced the move Monday morning in an email to Anthony Wayne staff.
“After 21 years of service as an administrator and the last 14 as superintendent, leaving this district was not an easy decision for me,” he said. “However, I am excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead and the chance to continue making a positive impact on the lives of students in this area.”
The agenda for an Oregon Board of Education meeting Tuesday includes a “transition agreement” effective Aug. 1 to Sept. 27 for Superintendent Hal Gregory. Mr. Gregory has been superintendent since April, 2015, when he was moved up from assistant superintendent to fill the vacancy created by Superintendent Lonny Rivera’s departure.
The agenda also includes action to hire Mr. Fritz as associate superintendent/superintendent, effective Aug. 1. The initial contract is for four years, expiring July 31, 2028.
