The University of Toledo’s Ritter Planetarium will explore cosmic connections to Halloween in an immersive full-dome program in October.
Spooky Space, intended for viewers ages 6 and older, presents outer space phenomena through comparisons to Halloween-themed characters. Vampires are likened to black holes, for example, and nebulae to ghosts.
The program will screen at 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 26, with young viewers invited to attend in costume on Oct. 26.
Ritter Planetarium will also screen The Other Side of Infinity: Black Holes at 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 25. Narrated by actor Liam Neeson, the film uses high-resolution visualizations to illustrate the current science of black holes.
Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children, senior citizens, and UT community members. Children aged 3 and younger are free. Parking is free in Area 1N within 45 minutes of the beginning of planetarium shows.
