The University of Toledo has launched a new podcast, “Powering UToledo,” hosted by UT Interim President Matt Schroeder and award-winning TV and media host Kristi K. Hoffman.
The podcast highlights the impact UT has had as a public research university with an academic medical center.
In the debut episode, Mr. Schroeder and Ms. Hoffman discuss the interim president’s vision for the university and the role it plays as a regional force powering opportunities to learn, care, work, and play.
“There’s no other place like Toledo,” Mr. Schroeder says in the debut episode.
“We talk about institutions of higher ed looking the same on paper, but what we have here is very different. It’s something we should celebrate and talk about, like we are today, on a daily basis,” he said.
Mr. Schroeder shares personal insights about his journey from UT student to interim president, emphasizing the importance of alumni relations and leadership.
The podcast explores the history of the university and its significant contributions in research, education, and healthcare. It also highlights the university’s accolades, innovation projects, and future priorities.
New episodes of “Powering UToledo” will be released at least monthly, officials said. Users can find it where they get their favorite podcasts or at utoledo.edu/offices/president/podcast.
