BOWLING GREEN — Ravi Krovi has been named provost and senior vice president at Bowling Green State University.
Mr. Krovi comes from Weber State University, a public, regional university serving 30,000 students near Salt Lake City, where he has been provost and senior vice president of academic affairs since 2020.
He previously held multiple leadership roles at University of Akron, including dean of the college of business administration for a decade.
In his announcement of the new provost, BGSU President Rodney Rogers said Mr. Krovi has successfully leveraged external partnerships with a variety of organizations to develop new programs, faculty positions, and student success initiatives.
Recently, Mr. Krovi facilitated a materials technology accelerator with industry partners and a collaboration with the school of medicine at the University of Utah to strategically manage a national education and research center in occupational health and safety, President Rogers said.
Mr. Krovi is replacing Joe Whitehead, who in July transitioned to professor of physics and senior adviser to the president for regional science initiatives. Mr. Whitehead served as provost and senior vice president at BGSU for five years.
